    Nice job speaking …
    Nice job speaking the truth about popping diet pills and how bad they are for you. You’re so right about Adios, I work in a health shop and they had nothing but bad feedback from customers! Some of the ingredients are quite scary especially the new trend for chilli extract based one’s. I had 1 occasion where I refused to let a 14 year old girl buy Hydroxycut even though she claimed it was for her friend. i used to take Green Tea based tablets to boost energy in the gym but they gave me……….

    @020Lizzie Thanks for your comment, yes the side effects are awful. We know what you mean- the omnipresent adverts are really a problem for people with eating disorders! take care :)

    I’ve spent and wasted so much on diet pills and still no idea whether weight loss was because of them!
    Thank you for posting this! couldn’t have been timed better, have been really struggling with seeing diet pills on offer and just getting tempted to go down! that whole route again.
    i did get some side affects, mainly constipation! lovely! and struggling with sleep.
    i had an ECG which came back abnormal n had ultrasounds of my heart…but nothing significant, just not perfect. thanks again!

    @EdieAlyss Thank you, I completely agree- and the side effects sound awful! It really ruins day to day life, so isn’t worth it. Especially scary to hear you found yourself becoming aggressive, its amazing to think how much it can alter a person’s personality, even if only temporarily. Thank you for your good advice! take care :)

    @lil3981 Amy has never taken any form of diet pills, she has always been scared of their side effects :)
    That’s a brave decision to take and a hugely positive step towards recovery- seriously, we are really pleased to hear it :)

    I’ve tried so many different things and the only one which worked is now illegal in the UK. I totally wouldnt take them again though because they do make you so ill. I was itching from head to toe, burning up, falling asleep for mini naps without noticing, insomnia and heart problems. I got the whole horrible taste as well, and burping that back up was awful! xx

    Unfortunately due to spamming, we have had to make this video approval only comments. It’s totally cruel and unethical to advertise diet pills to people watching this video.

    Great video people …
    Great video people need to hear this information! I took ephedrine in 2008 after I left home for about 3 months it hurt my body so bad and I would not recommend it to anyone. It’s not worth it.. my heart still every once in a while skips cause of it and my hands when I was on it shook soooo bad. I couldnt think straight which of course was my ED as well but thats a horrible pill to be on. I also took Alli for 2 years from 2006-2007 and I lost 40 lbs. I had no side effects.. Hope this helps.

    @mentalhealthhelpUK So glad to hear that you are not doing it. You are absolutely perfect!! Yes, thank goodness my sister is ok, and I hope that stories like this do help others. Great video!

  18. EdieAlyss Said,

    @EdieAlyss Part 3) …
    @EdieAlyss Part 3) I became really aggressive with my girlfriend at the time. I would get into sudden rages with her, screaming at her, feeling as if I wanted to hit her (I never did, but the feeling of aggressive violence was terrifying as it is so unlike me). Anyone reading this, NEVER NEVER NEVER take ephedrine-based diet pills. My personality changed, just like it does when people take illegal amphetamines. It is terrifying to look back on. NEVER take them.

  19. EdieAlyss Said,

    @EdieAlyss Part 2) …
    @EdieAlyss Part 2) Once, whilst taking them, when I was asleep my mum came into my room because I was making groaning noises in my room and she couldn’t wake me. Apparently I was also grinding my teeth like you do when you’re on illegal amphetamine drugs, causing her to ask me if I was taking speed or something. As well as palpitations and dizziness, the worst side effect was that I became REALLY aggressive. I was yelling at teachers (TOTALLY uncharacteristic for me back then), and …

  20. EdieAlyss Said,

    I tried several …
    I tried several different ones back in 6th form. Most of them gave me diarrhea, dehydrating me, causing the number on the scale to drop purely because of water weight lost. Obviously these are dangerous as they dehydrate you and can cause electrolyte imbalances which can result in heart problems. But the scariest one I took was an ephedrine-based one. It was basically an amphetamine. I don’t know if it had an effect on my weight, but I was anxious and jittery all of the time… cont…

    @lil3981 or severe disability resulting from ephedra many of which occurred in young adults using ephedra in the labeled dosages- back in 2000. I guess, I’d have to say: take a look around on reliable internet websites, read a little and see whether you are still comfortable taking it. I don’t want to preach at you, because I 100% understand, but at the same time we care about and are concerned :)

  22. mentalhealthhelpUK Said,

    @lil3981 I …
    @lil3981 I understand why you have decided to take them, because I have been there and been desperate to lose weight at any cost too. Having bulimia, its easy to feel like your appetite is scarily out of control and needs suppressing. But it does worry me to hear that you are taking them, not least because my ECG results are abnormal since taking them, and I have been researching ephedra for this video- the New England Journal of Medicine found anumber of cases in 2000 of sudden cardiac arrest

    @Ilovebobbetty Hi amy :) Thanks for sharing, I think that story really illustrates the reality of taking diet pills.

  25. mentalhealthhelpUK Said,

    @sara7977 I totally …
    @sara7977 I totally agree with you, the side effects are often horrendous. It made me think also, that if I was only eating less because I temporarily was making myself feel so horrible, I was bound to just start overeating again when I stopped taking them. How pointless it was, in hindsight! Take care :)
